Friends: Not long ago, the mention of the word  would have conjured up the names Monica(neurotic), Ross(uber geek),  Chandler(class clown), Rachel(flaky sexpot), Joey (thick as a fence post hunk) and the ubiquitous Phoebe. Wildly popular in the pop culture world, 6 friends through thick and thin.

Dictionary.com defines friend as a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard. Or a person who is on good terms with another; a person who is not hostile: Who goes there? Friend or foe?

Friends, everybody has them. But who, among us, has only 6 friends. If you are reading this, I am pretty sure I am not your only friend. In today’s pop culture , friends come in groups of 50 or 100, minimum, and range into the 1000’s. I have a niece with 1146 friends ( as of 8a.m. this morning). That is if you subscribe to Mark Zuckerberg’s definition of “Friend”.

From Mark’s viewpoint, I have 88 friends.
